Note:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>Byakujutsu (bai zhu)\u00a0and\u00a0Sojutsu (cang zhu)<\/a>\u00a0are\u00a0not differentiated in Classical Chinese medicine (authoritative\u00a0Classics<\/i>\u00a0such as\u00a0Shanghanlun<\/a>, Jinguiyaolue, <\/a>and\u00a0Shennnonbencaojing<\/a>,\u00a0simply describe the two herbs as\u00a0zhu<\/i>). \u00a0While the herbs are often interchangeably used in Japanese Kampo, the usage of each herb is clearly differentiated in the current practice of traditional Chinese medicine.<\/p>\n
